Tierra Data Inc., a small, progressive natural resources planning firm based in Escondido, CA, has an immediate opening for a Masters Degree-level candidate in rangeland ecology, wildlife ecology, plant ecology, botany, environmental studies, fire ecology, or a related field. Duties may include supporting the preparation of natural resource management plans covering diverse, mostly southern California ecosystems, environmental impact assessments, biological assessments, wildland fire plans, library research and synthesis of scientific literature, vegetation monitoring, threatened and endangered species surveys, interpretive signs with natural resource themes, budget management, and scientific report writing. Candidates must have demonstrated ability to work independently, as well as work successfully on a team. Superior communication skills, verbal and written, are needed. Resource management plans are commonly located on military bases in the region. Familiarity with database and spreadsheet applications (Access, Excel) necessary. GIS experience a plus.
